Please do not ring reception to order repeat medication, requests will NOT be taken over the phone (unless a medical need requires this),our phone lines are extremely busy daily and need to be kept clear for patient access.
All Repeat prescriptions will be sent to your nominated pharmacy and will be available for collection there after 48 hours of the surgery receiving the request (excluding weekends and bank holidays).
Do not ring Reception to check if your prescription is ready as this blocks the telephone lines unnecessarily, if you have allowed 48 hours your prescription will be ready for collection at your pharmacy.

Over The Counter (OTC) Medication Requests
Guidance from the Northern Ireland Department of Health (DoHNI) and the Health and Social Care Board (HSCB) advises GPs not to prescribe medicines that can be purchased over-the-counter (OTC) by patients when they are being used to treat minor conditions or self-limiting illnesses.
Patients are encouraged to self-care and seek advice from their local community pharmacist to help manage these minor and self-limiting conditions.
This GP practice does not prescribe medicines: (i) that can be purchased over-the-counter by patients when they are being used to treat minor conditions or self-limiting illnesses, or (ii) where there is no evidence base for their use. The following points should be noted: This practice promotes self-care for minor conditions and self-limiting illnesses;(see document in Forms to Download) medicines for treating these conditions should be purchased by the patient from community pharmacies or supermarkets and not prescribed on NHS prescriptions; Patients are advised that their local community pharmacist can provide advice and help to manage minor conditions and self-limiting illnesses.
